250 Buyers to Attend Cartoon Forum in Poland

If you have an animated project in the works, it might be a good idea to check out this year’s edition of Cartoon Forum, which takes place in Sopot, Poland, September 13-16.  According to event organizer, 250 buyers and 700 participants will be attending the program, which allows animation producers to present their pitches for their projects to TV buyers, distributors and investors.

Among the various European broadcasts slated to attend the event are France Télévisions, BBC, CANAL+, Cartoon Network, Super RTL, Disney Channels, Rai, RTVE, WDR, M6, MTV, Nickelodeon, NRK, SVT, TVC, TF1, ZDF and Lagardère Active (Canal J, Gulli).

This year, 66 animated projects have been selected to be showcased at the event: Planet Nemo’s Agatha, Cyber Group and Timoon Animation’s Bambala Ye, Dargaud Media’s Billy + Buddy, Pesky Productions’ Boj & Buddies, Gaumant/Alphanim, Lux Animation and Cromosoma’s Burny the Little Dragon, Millimages’ Caroline and Her Friends, Monster Animation’s Cosmo, Xilam’s Hubert & Takako, TeamTO’s Jade Armor, Calon’s Lettice, eOne’s Oscar and Hoo, Factory Transmedia’s Ribbit Rabbit Robot, Les Armateur’s The Long Long Holiday,  Gruppo Alcuni/Planet Nemo’s Superslash:// and CarpeDiem Film and TV/Angelgrafico’s Space Nena are only a few of the new projects.

Cartoon Forum’s agenda also includes a sightseeing tour of the Hanseastic city of Gdansk and screening of the Cartoon d’Or nominees. This year’s nominated shorts are Mobile by Verena Fels (Germany), Paths of Hate by Damian Nenow (Poland) Pivot by Andre Bergs (Netherlands), The External World by David O’Reilly (Ireland),  The Gruffalo by Jakob Schuh and Max Lang (U.K./Germany), and The Little Boy and the Beast by Johannes Weiland and Uwe Heidschotter (Germany).
