FremantleMedia has joined Jakks Pacific and Dentsu Entertainment as producer and distributor for a new animated TV series called Monsuno, according to Variety.
In the first announced project for FremantleMedia’s recently formed children’s and family division headed up by former Warner Bros. Animation president Sander Schwartz.
The series is about a group of kids who obtain powers and use them to defend the earth from destructive creatures.
FremantleMedia will handle worldwide distribution and act as master licensing agent outside of Asia. Dentsu will distribute and license in Asia, while its animation production facility Dentsu Tec will animate the series. Jakks Pacific will develop a line of toys based on the series.
Created by the Man of Action studio responsible for the hits Ben 10 and Generator Rex, Monsuno is planned for 52 episodes and will be aimed at boys 6-11.
