Two speakers from Academy Award-winning visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues will be at the Ex’Pression Center in Emeryville, Calif. on Saturday, June 21 to host an informative morning event presented by SIGGRAPH San Francisco. Tailored for both experienced and aspiring visual effects professionals, the event was so successful in Hollywood that an encore presentation has already filled up from the RSVP overflow.
Senior lighting technical director Jude Adamson and R&D character development/producer Anjelica Casillas will explore the pipeline and procedures used by the artists at Rhythm & Hues in the production of films like Scooby-Doo, The Sum of All Fears, Men in Black 2, Daredevil and X2: X-Men United.
The discussion will cover techniques for suspending audience disbelief and seamlessly blending CG character animation and visual effects with live action. The presenters will also offer an overview of the proprietary and off-the-shelf applications in use at the studio and discuss the creation of CG stars like the Coca-Cola Polar Bears, Babe, Cats & Dogs and Scooby-Doo.
In addition, a recruiter from Rhythm & Hues will be present to accept resumes and demo reels, as well as answer questions.
