Producers’ Event Spotlights Pixar and 3-D Technologies

If you’ve been thinking about checking out the First Produced By event held at Sony Studios this week (June 5-7), you’ll be happy to know that the event features a great panel about Pixar’s unique way of producing animated features as well as a special look at the future of 3-D filmmaking with director James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar).

Presented by the Producers Guild of America, this weekend event will be hosting a stellar cast of Hollywood movers and shakers, including Clint Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy, Roger Corman, RJ Cutler, Lucy Fisher, Douglas Wick, Jim Morris, Hoyt Yeatman, Marc Weigart, John Walker, Jim Morris, David Stump, Steve Sullivan, Ed Ulbrich, Ariana Huffington, Gale Anne Hurd, Bill Lawrence, Richard Edlund, Norman Lear, Larry Gordon, Marshall Herskovitz, Bruce Cohen, Jeff Gomez, Yair Landau, Kevin Feige, Mike Sanders, Buzz Hays, Steve Sullivan, Mike Sanders, Rob Bedrowi and Steve Preeg.

In addition to the Saturday Pixar and 3-D panels, there are special sessions devoted to the new era of visual effects, motion-capture technology and a look at the latest camera breakthroughs. Attendees are also invited to a special opening night mixer on the Paramount lot on Friday.
