Montreal-based Toon Boom Technologies couldn’t resist a little boasting when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released its list of eligible animated features. Of the 11 movies long listed for Oscar consideration this year, a total of five films were produced using the company’s USAnimation software.

Disney employed USAnimation for its theatrical features The Jungle Book 2 and Piglet’s Big Movie. It was also used for Warner Bros.’ for Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Paramount’s Rugrats Go Wild! and Sony Pictures Classics’ The Triplets of Belleville.

The field of Oscar hopefuls will be narrowed down to three films when the Academy announces the official nominees on Jan. 27 at 5:30 a.m. The Oscars ceremony will be held on Feb. 29.
