Lucasfilm is building a new home for its animation, gaming and visual effects operations in Singapore, Variety reports.

The new facility will feature eight storys with about 242,000 square feet of office space. Located in the Fusionopolis area of the nation, the building boasts a futuristic design and will be built above a public garden.

The building will house the Singapore branches of Lucasfilm Animation, Industrial Light & Magic and LucasArts. The three divisions currently employ about 400 people total and expansion is expected.

The building is set to break ground early in 2011 and be completed by late 2012 or early 2013.
