According to The Hollywood Reporter, Industrial Light & Magic has won a bid to do visual effects work on the upcoming Bruce Willis film Tears of the Sun, to be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Written by Alex Lasker and Pat Cirillo, the film has Willis leading a special forces unit into an African nation gripped by civil war to rescue a humanitarian doctor (Monica Bellucci). Scott Farrar, whose latest credits include Minority Report and the upcoming Peter Pan, will supervise the film’s effects for ILM. ILM’s Dana Friedman will serve as visual effects producer. The project is being overseen by Revolution Studios execs Todd Garner and Derek Dauchy.
