Visual effects plug-in vendor The Foundry announced that it has received its first advance order for Furnace, its all-new suite of plug-in tools. ESC Ent., a California-based digital production company specializing in feature film special effects, has pre-ordered multiple Furnace and render licenses.
Furnace is comprised of ten plug-in tools for Apple’s Shake compositing and effects system. Those include wire and rig removal, a retimer named Kronos, steadiness, deflicker, degrain/regrain and three texture replication tools. The suite is designed to reduce many complex day-to-day compositing problems.
Furnace for Apple’s Shake compositing and visual effects system is due for release in Jan. 2003, and is likely to be ported for use on other compositing platforms, including Discreet, in the near future.
