Eden FX in Hollywood has completed more than 200 Visual Effects shots for Revolution Studios’ upcoming feature film Hellboy, starring Ron Perlman (Alien: Resurrection, TV’s Beauty and the Beast). Many of these shots have already been incorporated into the trailer which recently began airing.
Working with director Guillermo del Toro (Blade 2, Mimic, Cronos) and visual effects supervisor Edward Irastorza (Blade, Blade II, Cats & Dogs, Dungeons and Dragons), Eden FX produced everything from set extensions to CG character enhancements for the film.
The feature, opening on April 2, is based on the popular Hellboy comic book series by Mike Mignola. The title character is a demon who was conjured up by Nazis during World War II but opts to serve the cause of good rather than evil. The movie’s official web site is www.sonypictures.com/movies/hellboy.
Eden FX is the primary provider of CG effects for the syndicated Paramount Television series Enterprise, which recently launched its third season on UPN. The crew has also done work for the CBS series NAVY: NCIS and Jag, and will lend its talents to upcoming episodes of HBO’s Six Feet Under and ABC’s Alias, among others.
Tippett Studio, The Orphanage, Fantasy II, Hatch FX, Spectral Motion and DDT Efectos Especiales also provided effects for the film, which features make-up work by Rick Baker.
