Xilam Pitches Mr BaBy at Cartoon Forum

September 5, 2008 by Ryan Ball divider image

Paris-based animation studio Xilam is headed to Cartoon Forum with Mr BaBy, a new short-form animated series that has been commission by French broadcaster France 3. The company will be looking to secure further international pre-sales or co-finance deals for the show and will have three completed episodes available for screening.

Mr BaBy follows the adventures of a precocious 15 month-old who, instead of sitting in his high chair gurgling and slurping, speaks with the acerbic tongue of a 50-year-old misanthrope with outrageous demands. Set entirely in the family kitchen, the series aims to entertain family audiences.

Xilam is handling worldwide distribution of Mr BaBy. Buyers attending this year’s Cartoon Forum in the German city of Ludwigsburg will be able to catch the pitch at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17. Xilam has been nominated for the Cartoon Tributes award for Producer of the Year. The awards will be announced during the market’s closing ceremony on Friday, Sept. 19.
