Sesame Workshop has announced a collaboration with acclaimed children’s author and illustrator Todd Parr to create a short animated film that will appear on the 41st season of Sesame Street.

The film is designed to help children deal with their innate fears.

‘Like millions of other children, Sesame Street was part of my life and taught me many great things,’ said Parr. ‘It’s almost surreal for me now to be working with them to help kids learn and feel good about themselves.’

‘We are thrilled to be working with Todd Parr, bringing his signature style to Sesame Street,’ says Carol-Lynn Parente, executive producer of Sesame Street. ‘Like Sesame Street, Todd’s work appeals to kids and adults alike and contains wonderful messages that empower kids to be the best they can be.

Parr has won two National Parenting Publication Awards and three Oppenheim Gold Awards. He is also the recipient of the Scholastic’s Parent and Child Magazine Teacher’s Pick. His books have won several awards and his TV show, ToddWorld, was nominated three times for an Emmy, among other awards.
