Cartoon Network kicks off season two of the new hit animated action series Teen Titans this Saturday, Jan. 10 at 9:00 p.m. This season sees adolescent superheroes Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven and Cyborg joined by the mysterious Terra, a girl who can move mountains.
The anime-inspired Teen Titans debuted on July 19 and was Cartoon Network’s most-watched premiere ever with boys 6-11. It also ranked No.1 on basic cable in its time period with kids 2-11. It was recently nominated for an Annie Award in the Music for Animated TV Production category.
Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Teen Titans made its comic book debut in 1964 and soon grew into its own monthly comic book series that ran for seven years. The New Teen Titans followed in 1980 and became DC’s most popular comic book of the decade that followed. The revamped version dealt more with the teenage angst aspect and serves as the basis for the new series.
Teen Titans, which also airs on Kids’ WB!, is produced by Warner Bros. Animation under the guidance of Emmy Award winner Glen Murakami.
