Sykes to Star in ‘Bubble Guppies’ Special

Multiple Emmy-winning actress and comedian Wanda Sykes is set to make a splash guest starring in the first ever hour-long special for Nickelodeon’s top rated preschool series, Bubble Guppies. The special, titled Bubble Puppy’s Fin-tastic Fairytale Adventure, will premiere Sunday, February 19 at 8 p.m. Series regularly airs weekdays at 11 and 11:30 a.m.

In Fairytale Adventure, Sykes plays a mean witch who encounters Molly and Gil on their way to fetch a pail of water in an enchanted forest and turns their dog, Bubble Puppy, into a frog. The Guppies must enlist the help of some famous fairytale friends to undo the spell—or else the witch may se her wicked potion to turn everyone amphibian! The special will touch on  concepts related to math, literacy, art, science and socio-emotional development.

Bubble Guppies is produced by Nickelodeon, created and executive produced by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, and co-executive produced by Janice Burgess—the Emmy-winning team behind The Backyardigans and Little Bill.
