Sunwoo U.S.A. Bugs Out For Co-Production

Finalized at MIPCOM earlier this month, a deal between Sunwoo Ent. U.S.A., Rugrats creative producer Chuck Swenson and Mikhail Aldashin, director for Studio Pilot Film in Moscow, will see the triumvirate develop a 52×11 animated series based on Studio Pilot’s short Bookashkis.

The Bookashkis — Sasha, Simmons and Shmutz — are bugs constantly struggling to survive their human co-habitators in a big city apartment.

The co-production is a second step toward Sunwoo U.S.A.’s goal of establishing itself as a producer of first run content for the worldwide market. At MIPCOM, the recently established U.S. arm of the Korean animation company announced plans to co-produce the series B-Bot VS the Alien Posse with Canada’s DECODE Ent.
