Spike & Mike Bring Sickcom to Comic-Con

Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation has purchased the series pilot Sickcom from Robert Steven Rhine (My Brain Escapes Me, Chicken Soup for Satan) and his partner, animator Frank Forte (Li’L Pimp movie, The Vampire Verses, The Cletus and Floyd Show). Comic-Con attendees will get a first look at this an animated comedy about a serial killer’s family and home life.

Sickcom was written and directed by Rhine and animated in Flash by Forte at their FrankenRhine Studios. The pilot episode, titled “Meet The Beaters,” will premiere as part of Spike & Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation at Comic-Con Int’l 2003 in San Diego at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18th and Saturday, July 19. Spike & Mike produced Mike Judge’s first two Beavis and Butt-Head shorts before they debuted on MTV and have helped launch the careers of Matt Stone & Trey Parker (South Park), Pixar’s John Lasseter, Tim Burton, Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit), Bill Plympton (Mutant Aliens), Craig Bartlet (The Powerpuff Girls), John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy) and others.

FrankenRhine and Asylum Press will be exhibitors at Comic-Con. The latest comic book in their Satan anthology, Chicken Soup From Satan #1, features artwork by Steven Mannion (DC’s Big Book series, Gotham Nights), Rich Longmore (Iron Guns) and Jacob Hair (Maniacs 2), and is currently available from Asylum Press at comic book stores.
