To help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the old spongemeister, Nickelodeon and sister station VH1 are planning all kinds of cool programming stunts, so mark your calendars and fire up the TiVo!

Square Roots: The Story of SpongeBob SquarePants. This insightful, clip-filled documentary produced by Christine Creadon and Patrick O’Malley (Wordplay) takes a look at the creative journey of SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg and the artistic and cultural significance of the hit show. In other words, watch it, people! (Tuesday, July 14 at 9 p.m.)

50 Hours of Yellow Magic. Get ready for a 50-hour marathon of your favorite show, which begins with the premiere of To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants. In this historic episode, our hero’s pants shrink in the dryer, and he’s forced to wear round pants’an incident which has unexpected results. (Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m.)

Fan Favorites. Kick your celebration up to a higher level by sitting through 10 back-to-back favorite episodes of the show as voted by fans on Nick.com. An airing of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie follows at 8 p.m. (Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m.)

Celebrity Picks. SpongeBob counts Prez. Obama, Will Ferrell, Jack Nicholson, Ricky Gervais, David Bowie, Steve Carrell, Craig Ferguson, Rob Lowe, Alec Baldwin and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog as a few of his A-list friends. Why not enjoy a Top-10 Countdown of some of these celebrity fave episodes and see how the Yellow One has influenced luminaries and heads of states all around the globe? (Sunday, July 19 at 10 a.m., followed by 10 all-new premieres at 7 p.m.)

SpongeBob.com also offers a huge selection of new fun games and content and asks for kids to vote for their favorite episodes all month. And wouldn’t you know it, related Twitter and Facebook pages are also offering gems such as daily affirmations (‘Bubble blowing is all in the technique’) this month. (Beginning in July.)

Truth or Square. This all new hour-long special features celeb voices such as Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, Craig Ferguson and Robin Williams. The storyline finds SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs locked inside a giant freezer on the night of Krusty Krab’s anniversary celebrations. Needless to say, they spend their time reminiscing about their memories’and yes, there will be some SHOCKING revelations!!!! (Sorry, you’ll have to wait a couple of more months until this one airs on Nick in the fall.)
