Vancouver-based toon house Slap Happy Cartoons Inc. has been commissioned by Corus Entertainment’s YTV channel in Canada to produce a new animated series called Nerds and Monsters. Created by Slap Happy, the 40 x 11 series targets kids 6-11 with its comedic take on the adventures of a group of nerdy tweens stranded on an uncharted island with only their wits to protect them from a tribe of hideous (if half-brained) monsters.

“We’re thrilled to start production on Nerds and Monsters,” said Kathy Rocchio, Co-creator and Partner at Slap Happy Cartoons. “YTV is the perfect home for these unique and entertaining characters and we look forward to watching Nerds and Monsters strike a comedic chord with kids all around the world.”
