SCI FI Resurrects Farscape

Fans who have been mourning the cancellation of SCI FI Channel’s original series Farscape can look forward to the return of John Crichton, Aeryn Sun, Ka D’Argo and the other inhabitants of space leviathan Moya. The cabler announced plans to air a new four-hour miniseries titled Farscape: Peacekeeper War during the fourth quarter of 2004.

Farscape premiered in 1999 and chronicled the adventures of a U.S. astronaut who was shot through a worm hole to find himself in the middle of a confilct raging in a strange galaxy. The gritty, underrated series featured Emmy-worthy digital and makeup effects in bringing fantastic extraterrestrial beings and worlds to life.

The miniseries will pick up where the cliffhanger series finale left off and will reunite cast members Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Anthony Simcoe, Gigi Edgley and others. The Jim Henson Co./Hallmark Ent. co-production will be directed by Brian Henson from a script by series creator Rockne S. O’Bannon and executive producer David Kemper. Exec producer is Robert Halmi.
