A new Scholastic animated series titled The Misadventures of Maya and Miguel will boast the voice talents of stars Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill), Erik Estrada (C.H.i.P.s) and Elizabeth Pena (Jacob’s Ladder, Lone Star), according to Daily Variety.
Maya and Miguel, the continuing adventures of 10-year-old Latino twins, is the brainchild of Scholastic Ent. president Deborah Forte, who will serve as exec. producer.
Liu will voice Maya’s best friend, Maggie, and Pena will play mother to the twins, played by Candi Milo (Chalk Zone, ¡Mucha Lucha!) and Kika Futterman (Jakers!, The Adventures of Piggly Winks. Meanwhile, Estrada will deliver performances as friendly neighborhood mailman Seinor Felipe.
The Misadventures of Maya and Miguel is geared to kids 6-8 and is slated to join PBS Kids’ fall 2004 lineup.
