Restored Spider-Man Slings Web over U.K. TV

We brought you word last November that Buena Vista International Television (BVITV) was restoring Marvel’s 1967 Classic Spider-Man animated series. Now the distributor informs us that it has licensed the 52 recently polished half-hour episodes to Channel 4 for broadcast on terrestrial television.

BVITV joined forces with Fox Kids Europe to undertake the ambitious restoration project, which involved re-mastering the series on a high-definition format from the original 35mm film negatives.

Classic Spider-Man and other Spider-Man animated series from the ’90s, ’80s and ’70s are part of the Fox Kids Europe (FKE) and BVS portfolios, of which BVITV services the distribution.
