PBS KIDS is set to roll out four new episodes of the animated series Cyberchase beginning Wednesdays in May. Produced by Thirteen/WNET New York and Corus Ent.’s Nelvana, the show features the voices of Christopher Lloyd (Hacker) and Gilbert Gottfried (Digit). Returning guest stars include Bebe Neuwirth (Cheers), Al Roker (The Today Show) and Geoffrey Holder (Live and Let Die).
Cyberchase helps motivate students to succeed by offering new inroads into math. The series follows the adventures of Jackie, Matt, Inez and their pal Digit as they put their heads together to foil the dastardly plots of the devious Hacker.
On Wednesday, May 7, the Cybersquad’s Mother’s Day celebration is interrupted when Hacker hatches a fiendish plan to derail the holiday and ruin it for everyone, especially Motherboard. Young viewers can then log onto Cyberchase Online (pbskids.org/cyberchase) to make their own Mother’s Day card.
Exec. producers are Sandra Sheppard, director of children’s and educational programming at Thirteen, and Kristin Laskas Martin, former executive producer of the award-winning Magic School Bus.
Major funding for Cyberchase is provided by the National Science Foundation, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Additional funding is provided by The Kettering Family Foundation and the Volckhausen Family.
