Noodlesoup Prods. has signed a contract to produce the new animated series The Venture Brothers for Cartoon Network. The New York-based animation studio will be producing 13, half-hour episodes for the show, created by Jackson Publick, who wrote for The Tick animated and live-action series.
The Venture Brothers, which spoofs the 1960’s favorite Johnny Quest, features Hank and Dean, brothers who stumble into daily adventures. From encounters with ninjas to run-ins with mummies, the boys rely on their scientist father’s brain, the brute strength of their muscular, mullet-headed friend, Brock and a lot of dumb luck.
The pilot originally aired on Cartoon Network in February to strong ratings. It will be re-broadcast on Sunday, July 27 at 11:00 p.m. (ET, PT) and the series is scheduled to premiere during the Adult Swim block in March 2004.
