NOGGIN, Nickelodeon’s commercial-free preschool network, will serve up a brand-new season of Nelvana’s animated series, Franklin, in the new year. Never-before-seen episodes will begin airing on Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. (ET), followed by a New Years Day marathon of Franklin installments from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (ET). New adventures will roll out each day at 10 a.m. throughout the week ending Friday, Jan. 6.

The little turtle with a lot of determination returns for a sixth season, which kicks off with an episode in which Franklin wins a contest to skate with professional hockey star Bill Buffalo. After embarrassing himself in front of his hockey hero, his family and his friends, Franklin redeems himself on the local frozen pond, where his real skills shine through. In the second part of the half hour, Franklin becomes overprotective of Harriet when she scrapes her knee in a wagon mishap, but comes to realize that bumps and bruises are just a part of growing up.

The half-hour toon series, based on the popular children’s books by Paulette Bourgeois, is comprised of two 11-minute adventures and airs regularly at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (ET) each day on NOGGIN. More information on NOGGIN programming can be found at www.noggin.com.
