Nick’s Little Bill A First In Macy’s Parade

November 11, 2002 by Ryan Ball divider image

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will have it’s first African American balloon this year when Nick Jr.’s popular preschool character Little Bill joins in the festivities. The inquisitive tyke in the rugby shirt will appear larger than life, floating over the streets of New York with the aid of 12,000 cubic feet of helium.

Created by Bill Cosby and based on his series of children’s books, the Peabody award-winning animated Little Bill follows the adventures of a highly imaginative 5-year-old boy as he investigates his world with the help of his loving family and friends. The show features the voices of Gregory Hines, Phylicia Rashad, Ruby Dee, Kathy Najimy and Cosby, himself.

Joining Little Bill in the Thanksgiving Parade, also for the first time, will be the helium-filled likeness of Charlie Brown.
