Nickelodeon Int’l Signs My Dad the Rock Star

Nickelodeon Int’l has acquired the animated comedy My Dad the Rock Star from Nelvana, French co-production partner the Carrere Group and broadcaster M6. The deal covers broadcast rights for the U.K, Australia, Asia, Scandinavia, Spain and Holland.

Based on the book My Dad the Rock Star: Rebel without a Nose Ring by KISS frontman Gene Simmons, the 26×30 tween comedy follows the misadventures of 12-year-old Willy Zilla, who thinks his dreams of normalcy have come true when his billionaire rock star father goes into semi-retirement in the suburbs. However, he comes to learn that life in a small town as the son of a celebrity is not without its challenges.
