Alison Snowden and David Fine, the Oscar-winning creators of the acclaimed animated series Bob and Margaret, are set to produce their latest prime-time animation series with Vancouvers Studio B Prods. The 26×22 Simon Stimple is currently in development for Canadian broadcaster TELETOON.
Aimed at adults, Simon Stimple is about a 22 year-old trying to figure out what to do with his life while coping with his overbearing parents and a hypochondriac pet fish.
The British Snowden and Canadian Fine have worked in London since 1989. They have 52 episodes of Bob and Margaret, which was broadcast in Canada on the Global Television Network, in the U.S. on The Comedy Central Network and Showtime, and in the U.K. on Channel 4 and The Paramount Comedy Channel. The show was based on the Oscar-winning short Bob’s Birthday. They are also developing the childrens series Ricky Sprocket: Showbiz Boy for a major U.S. broadcaster. Snowdon, Fine and their three-year-old daughter live in South West Londn.
Studio B is currently in production on 26 all-new episodes of Yvon of the Yukon for broadcast on YTV and BBC. It is also in co-production with Kapow Pictures, Nickelodeon Australia, MTV and TELETOON on Yakkity Yak, as well as the series Being Ian for broadcast in 2004 on YTV.
