Following a successful launch on Comcast’s On Demand service in the greater Philadelphia area, the first North American cable network dedicated to Japanese animation is expanding its reach. The Anime Network will be available in Monmouth, Ocean and Union Counties in New Jersey as Comcast offers On Demand in those areas.
According to John Ledford, president and CEO of Anime Network parent company A.D. Vision Inc., the Anime Network has been one of the most popular offerings on Comcast’s On Demand service in Philadelphia.
The Anime Network is structured around four content categories: action, sci-fi, comedy, and martial arts. The network makes available approximately 25 hours of anime content per month, with regularly scheduled “refreshes” to replace older content with new films and series episodes.
Leadership at the Anime Network confirms that the network is broadening its initial roster of multi-system operator (MSO) agreements to include providers from coast-to-coast.
