Spain’s Neptuno Films and Singapore’s Character Farm will join forces to distribute the 3D animated preshool toon Katakune. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is the first deal of its kind between the two countries.
Co-produced by Character Farm and Wogee Toons, the CG-animated series (packaged as 52 X 11-minutes or 260 X two-minutes) is scheduled to be completed in October. Aimed at three- to six-year-olds, the show offers simple ways to learn about big themes such as social responsibility, friendship and value systems.
The Barcelona-based Neptuno Films holds exclusive distribution rights for the worldwide market (excluding Asia and North America, which will be handled by Six-Six-Eight on behalf of Character Farm). Wogee Toons, which operates exclusively in China, has secured a deal with state broadcaster CCTV. Neptuno has a growing catalog of animated series, including The Gloops, Danny & Daddy, Dougie in Disguise and Connie the Cow. For more info, visit www.katakune.com or www.neptunofilms.com.
