NBC and DreamWorks Animation have teamed up to present a pair of new animated holiday specials based on the Shrek and Kung Fu Panda films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The two specials are a Halloween offering called Scared Shrekless set to air Oct. 28, and a Christmas entry titled Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special that will be shown Nov. 24.
The network plans to pair each new special with previously aired DreamWorks Animation specials. Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space will air following Scared Shrekless and Merry Madagascar will follow Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special.
Shrek previously appeared in the holiday special Shrek the Halls.
The trade reports that Scared Shrekless will see Shrek challenges his friends to spend the night in Lord Farquaad’s haunted castle telling scary stories, while Panda will see Po have to choose between family obligations and his duty as Dragon Warrior when he’s ordered to host a formal winter feast at the Jade Palace.
