Mr Bean Goes Scandinavian

Mr Bean, The Animated Series is heading to Scandinavia. The 26×30 series has been sold to SVT, Sweden and YLE, Finland by Fremantle Int’l Distribution, which also put out the original live action series. SVT will begin airing the series on Dec. 23. The series launch date on YLE is yet to be announced.

Mr Bean fans in Scandinavia can also look forward to bringing home the animated series on VHS and DVD. Tiger Aspect, the award-winning production company responsible for Mr Bean, struck a deal with Universal for home video rights to the animated series for Sweden and Finland.

The Scandinavian deals are only the latest in a barrage of sales Fremantle has made in territories all over the world.

Rowan Atkinson, star of the live-action adventures has been closely involved in the creation of the animated series. Produced by award-winning U.K. independent Tiger Aspect in association with Richard Purdum Prods. and Varga Holdings, the show remains faithful to the character Atkinson created on British television. The loveably awkward silent type always goes to extraordinary lengths to achieve what appear to be very ordinary goals.
