Will Brits still think Marge Simpson is such a great mom after she bares a little yellow skin for a popular men’s magazine? The BBC reports that the United Kingdom has voted the blue-haired Simpson family matriarch best celebrity mother. The results of the poll were announced just as word comes out that Marge will grace the April cover of racy U.S. rag Maxim.
In honor of this weekend’s Mothering Sunday in Britain, The Mothers’ Union, a charity dedicated to promoting marriage and family life, surveyed 946 people and found that the animated Marge was even more revered as a mother than the Prime Minister’s wife, Cherie Blair, who came in third behind television host Lorraine Kelley. Singer Victoria Beckham (formerly Posh Spice) came in fourth, while Actress Elizabeth Hurley took last place among public figures with only 5 percent of the vote.
For the Maxim cover, Marge poses on her hands and knees as she scrubs the floor and shows a little cleavage. The Simpsons team was involved in designing the cover and the inside pictorial, in which Marge reportedly lets her hair down.
The issue is sure to be a collector’s item since Maxim has never featured a drawn character on the cover. Also, only a third of the April covers will be dedicated to Marge. The rest will feature over-exposed hotel heiress and reality television star Paris Hilton.
