Paris-based Marathon Media, the studio behind show such Totally Spies, Redakai and Gromiti, is opening an office in Hong Kong, bringing in Stéphane Aldebert to head up the post as regional director for Asia.

Aldebert will work to build on Marathon’s relationship with producers, animation studios, game developers, publishers, distributors, licensing agents and merchandising companies across the region. He will also work closely with the Paris studio to coordinate on-going productions and partnerships.

Vincent Chalvon Demersay, the CEO of Marathon Media, said:

“Our move into Asia is the next logical step in our strategy of rapprochement with the region where we already enjoy some excellent relationships with top-flight industry players. The decision to open an office there became an obvious choice because today it is the region with the highest growth in the world. That corresponds to our short and mid-term objectives. We’re delighted to place this responsibility in the hands of Stéphane Aldebert, who will apply his expertise for the benefit of Marathon Media by combining his twin passions; animation and Asia. Stéphane will be able to reach out to our partners across the entire region, notably in Singapore South Korea and Japan.”
