Following last year’s sale to the BBC, Spellbound Ent. is taking the stop-motion animated pre-school series The Koala Brothers , The U.K.-based rights holder has sold the show to Disney Channel in the U.S., Super RTL in Germany, ABC in Australia and TV Ontario and Knowledge Network in Canada.
Produced by Famous Flying Films for Spellbound, The Koala Brothers follows the adventures of Frank and Buster, two koalas on a mission to help others in need in the Australian outback. The 52×10 series is currently in production in the U.K. and will also be available as 26 half-hours episodes.
The property was created by Famous Flying Films managing director David Johnson, who serves as supervising producer. Line producer on the series is Alison Brown and exec. producer for Spellbound is Peter Curtis.
Spellbound Ent. is handling all TV distribution, home entertainment, publishing and licensing rights for the property internationally.
