Wolverine, Professor Xavier and the rest of the mutant squad will return to kick off season three of the Kids’ WB! animated action series X-Men: Evolution. The premiere episode will air on August 2 at 10:30 a.m. (ET), with other all-new installments to roll out on Saturday mornings.
In the first new episode, titled “X23,” Wolverine discovers that his DNA has been used to create a new Weapon X – a 14-year-old mutant girl. Like her genetic donor, she has a mysterious past, a volatile nature and dangerous powers, which she uses to immobilize the X-Men one by one until the climactic showdown with Wolverine.
Based on the popular Marvel Comics series, X-Men: Evolution is produced by Marvel Studios in association with Film Roman. The third season takes place in a brave new world where the X-Men and all other mutants have been exposed to the public and must deal with mixed reaction, prejudice and intolerance. To make matters worse, an ancient creature threatens to destroy any semblence of co-existence between humans and mutants.
Leading up to the premiere, Kid’s WB! will air “must see” episodes the week of July 28 – August 1 (except Wednesday), in the 3:00 p.m. ET time slot.
