Kids’ WB! Charges Up More Megaman

Kids’ WB! has ordered an additional 26 original episodes of the anime series MegaMan NT Warrior from ShoPro Ent. Bringing the commitment to a total of 40 episodes, the second season will kick off in spring 2004.

MegaMan NT Warrior debuted on Kids’ WB! to high ratings in May. The show is set in the year 200X, where virtually all technology is linked to a central computer system and virtual world, which citizens access using their personal “NetNavis” (Net Navigators). When hackers and high-tech computer crimes threaten lives, it’s up to tech-savvy Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, to expose the darkness within their digital universe.

In addition to MegaMan, San Francisco, Calif.-based ShoPro Ent., an affiliate of ShoPro Japan, has brought such highly rated Japanese television series as Hamtaro and Inuyasha to broadcasters and consumers around the world.

According to Daily Variety, Kids’ WB will also add the animated series Astro Boy and Static Shock to its schedule on Jan. 17. Astro Boy, produced by Sony Pictures Ent. Japan and Tezuka Prods., will begin its run of 25 new episodes at 8:30 a.m., while Static Shock, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, kicks off its fourth season at 11:30 a.m.
