A distribution deal signed with EM.TV & Merchandising AG will see Swiss infrastructure and pay-TV provider Swisscom Broadcast AG carry the JUNIOR Channel. The pick up was announced in conjunction with the April 16 launch of Swisscom’s new pay-TV platform, Premium Digital TV, its first foray into digital cable television.
The JUNIOR Channel will first be distributed to local Swiss cable networks before rolling out across Digital-Banquet Premium Entertainment alongside channels such as Planet, 13th Street, Sci Fi, National Geographic and ESPN Classic.
Featuring such animated series as The Flintstones, Men in Black and Pokémon, the JUNIOR Channel provides children’s and family programming 24 hours a day. The Swisscom JUNIOR format will be identical to that of the channel’s programming on German pay-TV station Premiere.
