Intl. TV Channels Fired Up for Jane and The Dragon

France 3, TVNZ and ABC Australia and Canada’s YTV are the first four entities to buy Nelvana/Weta’s new CG-animated series Jane and the Dragon, it was announced at the MIPTV market in France today. Each have acquired 26 episodes of the 3D toon about a headstrong 12-year-old female knight in the King’s Guard during the medieval times, who has a lovable 300-year-old dragon by her side.

"This series was the headliner of our MIPTV 2004 development slae, and we are thrilled with its sale record over the past year," says Doug Murphy, Nelvana’s exec VP of business development. "We look forward to tracking its performance on these top channels as we develop plans for Jane and the Dragon consumer products program."
