Harmony Gold Serves up Robot Hunter

Harmony Gold will be offering the animated feature Casshan: Robot Hunter based on the original Japanese TV series this year at NATPE. This new project comes on the heels of the highly successful live-action theatrical release Casshern in Japan through Shoshiku. DreamWorks Pictures recently announced that it’s acquiring the U.S. rights to the film. Tatsunoko Productions produced the Casshan: Robot Hunter animated feature, which will also be available in a series of four half-hour episodes. Harmony Gold has worldwide rights to the property excluding Japan.

The feature incorporates the fantastic elements of science fiction and the reality-based issues of moral ambiguity and internal struggle. The hero Cassahan must set aside his personal concern, devoting himself fully to saving the world. He fights a formidable army of rebellious robots who were originally designed to protect civilization from an ecological cataclysm. However, now the robots have enslaved humanity, and Casshan is their only hope for complete restoration of order on Earth. For more info. visit www.harmonygold.com.
