Glasshead Animates Dragon for Channel 4

U.K.-based TV and multimedia production company Glasshead Ltd has been commissioned by 4Learning, Channel 4’s education division, to produce a 13×13 animated series titled The Blue Dragon. Aimed at kids 5-7, the series will help youngsters make sense of the world using scientific ideas.

Set to air in January 2004, The Blue Dragon is about a newborn dragon who appears out of nowhere and lands in the middle of a group of friendly young animals living in a forest. Twiggy the bear, Red the fox, Jack the beaver and Chisel the woodpecker name the dragon Cinders and teach her about life in the forest. In an attempt to discover Cinders’ origins and help her get home, the animals embark on a series of adventures visiting all sorts of places ripe with scientific discoveries.

The Blue Dragon‘s voice cast includes Jane Horrocks, who starred in the hit movie Little Voice and the television series Absolutely Fabulous, and accomplished actor Andrew Sachs, most recently seen in the acclaimed feature Nowhere in Africa.
