Variety reports that Fox Broadcasting Co. is putting together a deal for Steve Levitan and Clone High writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller to create, write and exec produce a half-hour animated comedy based on popular KFI-AM radio host Phil Hendrie.
Hendrie will supply many of the show’s voices, including the lead role of a radio talkshow host who finds fame and fortune in a major market and ends up moving to a gated suburban community with his new wife and her three children. Family drama and comedy ensues as his on-air controversial stances cause problems for him at home.
The as-yet-untitled series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and is one of four new animated projects in the works for Fox’s 2004-2005 season. Hendrie will serve as co-exec producer.
