Los Angeles-based Exopolis just wrapped up its redesign of the Nicktoons Network, delivering five promo packages, six 30-second animated network IDs, 20 navigation features, four logo animations and a fully animated cross-channel spot, The Three Headed Monster.
Nicktoons commissioned the re-branding in preparation for its shift to a 24- hour a day, advertiser-supported channel, hoping the fresh designs would reflect the channel’s distinct personality and keep its 7-12 audience engaged between shows. The network also asked that its Burbank studio, where all of the nitty-gritty work gets done, play a central role in the project.
Exopolis creative director Darwin Tomlinson notes, We knew we had an enormous challenge with this package the moment we received the brief asking us to create a sort of ‘anti-network package’ that would generate the network’s attitude rather than just display its programming information."
Exopolis’ Nicktoons package features creative design elements †hat gives the brand an innovative and eccentric flavor. Complex layouts of collaged twitching imagery and tactile materials cover the screen, infusing the still space with the network’s quirky energy.
The network’s new design package recently began broadcasting and can be viewed at www.nicktoonsnetwork.com.
