Entertainment Rights (ER) has announced that the BBC has commissioned another 28 episodes of its critically acclaimed Postman Pat series. This brings the number of Postman Patepisodes and specials licensed to the BBC to 114, which bodes well for the future of this series on the BBC and the CBeebies broadcast platforms.
Postman Pat first aired with pizzazz in Autumn 2004, reeling in over 25 million viewers who stamped the program with a seal of approval during its initial six-week run. The second batch of the pre-school- friendly show is currently in production and slated to hit TV screens in the fall of 2005.
ER and the BBC will oversee the production of Postman Pat by Cosgrove Hall, the U.K.s leading stop-frame animation studio. The latest installment of episodes about our beloved postal worker will begin production later this year and air on the BBC in the fall of 2006, delivering new sets and characters to eager audiences.
