The Dutch holding company Palm Plus Multimedia BV has acquired all media exploitation rights, outside the Nordic territories, to the Egmont Imagination Catalog. The day-to-day handling of the distribution and licensing rights is granted to PPM’s fully owned subsidiary Telescreen BV.
Telescreen has been a strong animation player for the past 20 years, best known for its productions Miffy, Moomin and Alfred J. Kwak. The extended Telescreen catalog will now include properties such as Lizzie McGuire, Paz, The Fairytaler, Hamilton Mattress, Rex the Runt, Tracy McBean, Skipper & Skeeto and Upstairs Downstairs Bear.
“We have carefully searched for a dedicated partner who would match the quality ambitions of Egmont while knowing how to look after the high-end products that Egmont Imagination created,” says Egmont’s topper Kenneth Plummer. “In PPM we have found the perfect match. We know that our properties will get the tender care they deserve from an expert in its field.
Tom van Waveren, formerly president of Egmont Imagination, is appointed as director of co-productions at Telescreen and will be responsible for the identification, development and financing of new high-potential properties.
