Duck Dodgers Rules Cartoon Network’s Ratings

August 27, 2003 by Ryan Ball divider image

Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Marvin the Martian proved to be as popular with the kids today as they were back in 1953 when they appeared in Chuck Jones’ beloved Duck Dodgers in the 24th and 1/2 Century. The new Cartoon Network series Duck Dodgers earned the network double-digit delivery and ratings gains among key kid demos vs. the prior week.

Directed by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone, the toon’s premiere episode (Saturday, 11:30 a.m.) got the highest boost in kids 6-11 delivery, which was increased by 81% and ratings (2.5) by 79%.

In addition to Duck Dodgers, Cartoon Network nabbed solid ratings once again for its Adult Swim late-night bonanza. The toon block brought in CN’s highest-ever total day adults 18-34 delivery (257,000) in a one-week period.
