DECODE Debuts Animal-Mechanicals

Canadian kids and family entertainment specialist DECODE Ent. has unveiled a new animated preschool series titled Animal-Mechanicals. Produced by Halifax Film, DECODE’s sister company under DHX Media Ltd., the series of 40 11-minute CG cartoons was commissioned by broadcaster CBC in Canada.

Animal-Mechanicals is an action/adventure series that combines the excitement of monster truck rallies with the fantastic world of mythical animals on magical quests. A big as dinosaurs and twice as powerful, the transforming Rex, Unicorn, Komodo, Sasquatch and Mouse live and play in a colorful ‘snap-together-take-apart’ world that can also change form. New things are always popping up to present challenges to the Animal Mechanicals.

DECODE Ent. represents the international rights to Halifax Film’s kids and family programming, including fellow preschool properties Bo On the Go and the award-winning POKO. The company also distributes the preschool-targeted Super Why from Blue’s Clues producers Out of the Blue Ent. and the DECODE Ent.-produced Franny’s Feet, which has sold in more than 150 countries. With DHX’s recent purchase of Studio B, DECODE will also be representing programming from the acclaimed Vancouver animation studio.
