Look out PowerPuff Girls, there’s a new kid on the block and her imagination knows no bounds. Cybergraphix is in Cannes this week introducing its new property, Infinite Darcy.
Co-produced by Mumbai-based UTV Toons, Infinite Darcy (52×11) follows the adventures of a nine-year-old Chinese-American girl who can travel to alternate realities and become practically anything. "She sends herself on these adventures when life gets boring for her, or to avoid a certain phobia," explains Cybergraphix CEO Avi Melman. "Then by the end of the episode, she manages to accomplish that task or overcome that fear."
While the show is geared to girls 5—11, Melman and crew are confident that its sci-fi elements will help it achieve the kind of cross-over success enjoyed by series like PowerPuff Girls and Disney’s Kim Possible. Producers are also hoping to entertain older viewers with plenty of tongue-in-cheek references to pop-culture icons like The Matrix.
Cybergraphix is located at booth R30.18.
