Cartoon Network has picked up 9 Story Entertainment’s animated series Almost Naked Animals and will begin airing it later this year.

The Canadian-produced comedy series, with 40 22-minute episodes, is about free-spirited animals in their underwear that run a beach-front hotel called the Banana Cabana like kids at a summer camp.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Almost Naked Animals to U.S. audiences with Cartoon Network and anticipate out-of-the-box success for this hilarious new series as part of the incredible Cartoon Network brand,” said Vince Commisso, president and CEO of the Toronto-based company.

Created by Noah Z. Jones, who also came up with the animated series Fish Hooks, the series for ages 6-11 debuted on Canada’s YTV in January and on CITV in the United Kingdom. Deals are in place for the show to air in Germany as well.
