Cartoon Network has signed a two-year deal with British Airways to provide more than two hours of in-flight entertainment programming per flight. Beginning Dec. 1, passengers on long haul flights will have the option of watching Cartoon Network staples like The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory and Ed, Edd n Eddy plus new titles Grim and Evil and Time Squad.
This Cartoon Network branded channel will be updated quarterly. The initiative came from Turner Private Network’s in-flight group in the U.S. and was coordinated in the U.K. by Joanne Barlow, sr. marketing director for Cartoon Network.
British Airways see an estimated 14 million passengers a year, including 600,000 kids under 12.
