Peace, Justice and the American way rule supreme this Fourth of July weekend as Cartoon Network serves up three consecutive hours devoted to Superman, culminating with the first episodes of the new season of Justice League. The fun begins at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT)
Justice for All Saturday chronicles Superman’s efforts to defend the Earth from Darkseid, the all-powerful villain who rules the fiery planet of Apokolips. The special begins with four classic episodes from Superman: The Animated Series (“Apokolips… Now!” Parts 1 and 2, “Legacy” Parts 1 and 2).
The new season of Justice League kicks off at 10:00 p.m. with the first two-part saga, “Twilight,” which sees Darkseid asking Superman and his super friends to help him defend his planet, all the while disguising his plot to take over the Universe.
On Sunday, the toon outlet will air Daffy Duck’s Movie: Fantastic Island. The Merry Melodies adventure has Daffy and Speedy Gonzales shipwrecked on a desert island, where they find Yosemite Sam’s treasure map. Instead of a treasure chest, the two dig up a wishing well that transforms the island into a spoof of Fantasy Island. The movie includes clips from Buccaneer Bunny, Stupor Duck, Greedy for Tweety and From Hare to Heir.
