Cartoon Net Airs Powerpuff Holiday Special

Saving the world is nothing new to Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup, but saving Christmas is what they’ll be focusing their energies on tonight. The Powerpuff Girls are back to kick some Yuletide tail in their first-ever holiday special, titled ‘Twas the Fight Before Christmas. The all-new 60-minute adventure was released direct-to-video in October and makes its broadcast debut on Cartoon Network tonight at 9:00 p.m. (ET, PT).

The plot centers on the arrival of a new powerhouse in town who’s hatching a fiendish plot to trick Santa into turning her into the fourth Powerpuff Girl. It’s up to the girls to put her in her place and keep Christmas from disappearing forever.

‘Twas the Fight Before Christmas is available for purchase from Warner Home Video. Included is the bonus cartoon Dexter Versus Santa Claws, from Genndy Tartakovsky’s Cartoon Network series, Dexter’s Laboratory. Bonus features include a special Powerpuff Girls “We Three Girls” music video, a Cherish music video and trailers. The DVD lists for $19.98 and a VHS version will is available for $9.95.
